Oil-Only Spill Kits:  The most used Spill Kit in this region  -  Oil-Only Spill Kits are specifically designed for Oil and Petroleum-based liquids, these Kits are hydrophobic, making them highly effective on water to absorb the Oil while repelling water, This unique property allows them to work efficiently on water surfaces as well as on the land.  They are particularly valuable in industries that handle Oil or Oil-based liquids, ensuring quick and effective spill response in a variety of environments.

Hazardous Chemical Spill Kits:  These Spill Kits contain Absorbents that can safely absorb hazardous / aggressive chemicals including Acid and Bases, if you are not sure about the liquid spilled, we highly recommend using a hazardous chemical Spill Kit for spill clean-up procedure. Larger Chemical Spill Kits can be equipped with chemical neutralizers, chemical protective coveralls, face masks and various other PPEs that might be required to handle hazardous spills.

Cheap Spill Kits can be spotted by their lack of sufficient absorbents to match th stated capacity.  They often include extremely lightweight absorbent pads, poor-quality Socks and Pillows, and unnecessary items like scoops and brushes, which are only useful for Granules.  Additionally, these kits may contain very low-cost PPE and other tools that are completely unnecessary in a spill kit.

Spill kit configuration is based on where it is used, what purpose, and how it is used.

Situation 1

Most ENPAC Spill Kit contents are specifically configured for use with Salvage Drums to safely transport hazardous liquids.  This configuration includes more Absorbent Socks and fewer Absorbent Pads, allowing users to place the hazardous container in the Salvage Drum and use the Absorbent Socks around it to prevent spillage.  This setup ensures maximum containment and safety, which is why ENPAC kits contain a higher proportion of Absorbent Socks and fewer Absorbent Pads. However, in this region, most Spill Kit suppliers follow this trend due to its overall cost advantage, because it’s cheaper to produce filled products (Socks and Pillows) in Asian countries because of lower labor costs and the ready availability of polypropylene fillers, whereas Absorbent Pads are comparatively more expensive to produce. Consequently, suppliers configure their kits with more filled products, leading end users to buy multiple kits since the most commonly used product, Absorbent Pads, is comparatively less available in these kits.

Situation 2

In the U.S. and Europe, frequent snow and rain create stormy weather conditions that demand comprehensive drainage systems with drainage holes positioned throughout warehouse compounds, worksites, and open yards.  Contaminating these drainage systems with hazardous liquids can result in severe fines and other complications, making it essential to prevent such incidents.  To address this, these regions require more Absorbent Socks to safeguard drainage systems effectively, as a result, Spill Kits in these region are designed with a higher quantity of Absorbent Socks.  In contrast, the Middle East experiences far less rain, resulting in fewer drainage holes around warehouses and worksites.  Consequently, the primary need in this region is for more Absorbent Pads rather than Absorbent Socks, as Absorbent Pads offer a more practical and cost-effective solution for managing spills in the Middle East region, better suited to the climate and infrastructure.

As a result, we ensure that all our Spill Kits come with a higher quantity of premium quality Absorbent Pads, providing users with maximum value for the amount spent. Additionally, we offer complete customization options across our entire Spill Kit range, allowing customers to tailor the contents based on their specific needs and usage.

No, unless specified  -  We have noticed that some suppliers claim their Spill Kits’ Absorbent Pads are heavyweight, but we doubt this claim.  A heavyweight absorbent pad can absorb about 2 liters, therefore, if someone offered a 120 liters Spill Kit with large number of “Heavyweight Absorbent Pads” and other filled products, it is likely that the supplier is either misrepresenting the product or attempting to confuse the customer.  Interested to have a look at “real” heavyweight Absorbent Pads? you are welcome to visit us!
